XVID4PSP 5 PROBLEM INSTALL

Since I managed to reproduce, out of curiosity I used git to check file differences before and after the first start, no difference to me so if something produces the issue, it could be outside of the install folder (I checked if avast was the one messing with it since malware detection can sometime have false positives but it does not seem like it). I did many attempts and not 100% of them sucessfully displayed the preview on first start so it's kind of inconsistant on my side. I did try what gummiband was saying about a fresh install folder and managed to have the preview work too, only the first time I started the program. At this level it seems the internal player sometimes manages to display, sometimes not so I can't know if it comes from an issue with the codec or if it is a strange behaviour of the player that only happens to gummiband and me. Still looking into the issue but the strange thing is that I can get previews to work in MP - and I can open in the program (inside a tab) the video to be displayed, but not in a slideshow or in the preview screen on XnView classic. I'm still focusing on fixing the classic version as MP does not seem to handle forlders in sld files like the classic version (like so : "C:\Users\Admin\Pictures\screensavers\"- ). If there was a picture before a video, the sildeshow just freezes on the previous picture, if the video is first I just have a black screen (with no sound compared to the classic version). I may actually post this question over at doom9 aswell, they may have some insights on this too.I'm experiencing a relatively close problem with videos not displaying, but on MP it just does not display anything on a slideshow (though the preview works fine). ****P.S what are the ramifications to the video quality or compression efficiency in MediaCoder given how the above two features can't be utilized together?**** I was going to start a new thread, but as my search brought up the very topic that i to am concerned with, i just though i'll resurrect this thread. I'm surprised this topic dies so quickly back in 2011. I am very concerned by the way MediaCoder doesn't seem able to use both of these features in tandem with one another. Like the original OP said, when you use one method (cropping) it shuts of the other, and visa versa. Now usually i would say perhaps MediaCoder is onto something, and the method MediaCoder uses is the right way.īut i don't think it is based on the fact that 3 other highly followed applications (especially Handbrake) works on the simple principle cropping values should be taken into account when calculating height adjustments. How do I do that, or is it even possible?įormat profile : Advanced settings, BVOP : 1įormat settings, Matrix : Default (H.263) So what I want instead is just a cropped video with exactly 720px width, _and_ height set automatically, preserving the aspect ratio _after_ cropping. But my problem starts when it comes to letterboxed videos - as soon as I start cropping the video, behaviour is different, and it seems that the automatic height calculation does not work as expected anymore:ĭepending on my settings, I only get a) disorted Video, suddenly using the height (I had to specify with the desired width), even if I told mediacoder to adjust it automatically, or b) I get a video with a different PAR than before, the height I specified, but reduced width instead.

I just set height to "auto adjust" in the scale tab. So far, not a problem to solve the first 3 requirements. Of course, the new aspect ratio (for calculating height) should be the one _after_ cropping away the black bars.

Even worse, some of them are letterboxed, some are not.Ģ) All of these clips should be resized so that they are 720 px wide.ģ) The height of these clips should be set automatically, preserving aspect ratio of the original clip.Ĥ) with letterboxed sources, the black bars should be cut away, using Mediacoders own tools, then proceed with scaling. ġ) We have lots of different source clips with all kinds of sizes and aspect ratios.

So I played around with Mediacoder a bit and while I really like the program and it's many features, I have still problems with some things where I don't know if there is a limitation of the software or maybe I am just too stupid.
